The Fourth Visit of the BADV Network Company Visits Series Took Place at Vodafone

The fourth event of our Company Visits series, aimed at enabling members of the BADV Companies Network to learn from each other’s experiences regarding gender equality and the fight against domestic violence, took place on February 23 at Vodafone Plaza, hosted by Vodafone.

The event began with opening remarks by Esen Özdemir, BADV Project Coordinator, Ipek Cönbez, Vodafone Employer Branding and Diversity Manager, and Lara Eral, Vodafone Diversity and Employee Experience Leader. This was followed by a section on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Practices at Vodafone, where Hicran Bakalcı, Vodafone’s Compensation and Employee Relations Director, shared Vodafone’s perspective on diversity and inclusion, as well as the process of developing the Domestic Violence Prevention Policy published in 2019 under the BADV Project, its content, and implementation steps within the company.

In the final session, Ayşegül Ertok, Director of the Vodafone Foundation, discussed the transformative impact of the child and family centers established in earthquake-affected areas in collaboration with the Mother-Child Education Foundation (AÇEV) and the future plans for the project. Ertok began her speech by sharing the historical background of the Vodafone Red Light application, a unique initiative launched by the Vodafone Foundation in 2014 aimed at combating violence against women, along with recent developments in its implementation. The Red Light application allows users to quickly reach emergency numbers with a single button in cases of acute violence. Detailed information about the free-to-download Red Light application can be accessed on the Vodafone Foundation's website.

Our visit to Vodafone concluded with a tour of the office, where we had the opportunity to see work and living spaces designed with a focus on employee well-being.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Vodafone for hosting members of the Companies Network and sharing their holistic approach to diversity, inclusion, and the fight against domestic violence. Their commitment to working in this field for many years and inspiring the business world with good practice examples is truly commendable.
