We visited Ford Otosan for the fifth event of the BADV Companies Network Company Visits!
The fifth event in our series of Company Visits, aimed at enabling members of the BADV Companies Network to learn from each other’s experiences regarding gender equality and combating domestic violence, took place on March 27 at Ford Otosan's (FO) Vehbi Koç Foundation Gölcük Culture and Social Life Center.
The event began with opening speeches by FO HR and Transformation Leader Başak Çalıkoğlu Akyol and BADV Project Coordinator Esen Özdemir. This was followed by a presentation from FO Ethics Coordinator Gülçin Öztitiz, who discussed Ford Otosan's Ethics and Reporting Policy as well as the newly published Retaliation Policy. Öztitiz emphasized that they have an ethics hotline available 24/7, and that they handle incoming reports based on the principles of confidentiality and “zero tolerance for violence,” fostering a relationship of mutual trust.
Next, FO Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Leader Elif Barutçu shared Ford Otosan's initiatives in diversity, equality, and inclusion that began in 2013. Barutçu highlighted the importance of adopting a holistic approach against various inequalities, stressing that “every snowflake is unique,” which allows employees to be themselves through their policies and practices.
In the final session, FO Workplace Psychologist Gökçen Gökçe Kayalar and FO Industrial Relations Team Member Hilal Ayartürk Yüksel shared the contents of the Domestic Violence Prevention Guide prepared by Ford Otosan within the BADV project, along with principles for working with individuals affected by domestic violence, illustrated with concrete case examples.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ford Otosan for hosting the members of the Companies Network, for inspiring us with their work in diversity, inclusion, and combating domestic violence, and for demonstrating once again how critical top management’s commitment to these efforts is in creating a violence-free and equitable organizational culture.
